The Atlanta History Center houses a variety of exhibits from the 1860s to 1920s. Stroll around the beautiful natural gardens, or browse the signature exhibitions that cover a civil war exhibit, folk arts of the South, Centennial Olympic Games museum, and Bobby Jones exhibit. The Oakland Cemetery is the first public park and a national historic landmark where some of the well-known figures are buried- Margaret Mitchell, the author of Gone with the Wind; Ivan Allen Jr. and Maynard Jackson, the Atlanta mayors; and Bobby Jones, the golfer. The Fernbank Museum of Natural History depicts the Georgia’s natural history. The main highlights are the dinosaur skeletons, fossils and the enormous dinosaur statues at the entry, the ‘Sensing Nature’ exhibit. The Georgia Aquarium features an array of aquatic life. It houses some of the largest underwater creatures.
