  • Cleanings & Check-Ups

At SmileMidtown, we'd rather help keep your mouth healthy than fix problems after they occur. Why? Because we don't like drilling into cavities any more than you like having it done. We encourage you to come in for a routine dental check-up and cleaning every six months. We all know preventive dentistry is a good idea, but in practice sometimes the approach, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it", is what wins over. We know it can be inconvenient to schedule appointments, take time off work, and sit in a chair with instruments in your mouth. Here are some of the benefits of regular dental check-ups and cleanings.

  • Implant Dentistry

Dental implants offer a permanent, natural-looking solution to missing teeth. The person who has lost teeth regains the ability to eat virtually anything and can smile with confidence, knowing that teeth appear natural and that facial contours will be preserved. Dental implants are changing the way people live. With them, people are rediscovering the comfort and confidence to eat, speak, laugh, and enjoy life. At Smile Midtown, we are passionate about creating this positive impact through our implant dentistry team of the best dentists in Atlanta. We fit your unique needs to provide the highest quality dental implants Atlanta has to offer.

  • General dentistry

The health of your teeth and gums can affect your oral health and other body systems. Our Smile Midtown team of the best dentists in Atlanta provide high-quality family dental care, including dental care for kids. Starting with dental cleanings, Dr. Shuster places great emphasis on helping their patients keep their gums and teeth healthy. Get in touch to book your dental cleaning appointment with us today.

  • Dentures

A complete denture is a removable appliance for replacement of all upper or lower teeth. The denture is supported by the patients remaining gum ridge and its retention and comfort depends on the amount of ridge left, muscles, tongue, saliva and patient adaptability. Dentures designed by Smile Midtown provides a beautiful and more youthful smile that restores much of the patients chewing ability. If a patient has lost, or is losing, all of his or her teeth, complete upper and lower dentures are the lowest cost tooth replacement option. Upper dentures are usually easier to get accustomed to than lower dentures. The disadvantages of dentures are continued bone loss over time that may decrease their stability and retention, less than optimal chewing ability and the inconvenience of daily removal for maintenance.

  • Oral Rehabilitation

Prosthodontists are uniquely trained and qualified to perform partial or complete oral rehabilitations. These complex rehabilitations involve various combinations of crowns, veneers and dental implant restorations. Patients with one or more of the following symptoms are candidates for partial or complete oral rehabilitation: Dental Symptoms: Multiple missing teeth Excessive tooth surface loss Patients with periodontal disease Unsightly teeth Tetracycline stained teeth Misalignment of teeth

  • Bridges

A fixed bridge replaces one or more missing teeth by using the adjacent teeth for support. A fixed bridge is permanently cemented to the supporting teeth while a removable bridge hooks to the adjacent teeth and must be removed for cleaning. Three appointments are required to complete the fixed bridge. During the first appointment your dentist will prepare the teeth on either side of the gap. Since the bridge must be fabricated very precisely to ensure correct bite and to match the opposing tooth, impressions of the teeth are made and sent to our dental laboratory. During the second appointment, a diagnostic waxing of the bridge is tried-in and any required modifications are communicated to the technician. Your dentist seats a temporary bridge to be worn while the permanent bridge is being fabricated. During the third appointment, the temporary bridge is removed and the fixed bridge is permanently cemented to the prepared teeth.

  • Crowns

Crowns or caps are indicated when a tooth has fractured, suffered extensive decay, lost a large filling or undergone root canal treatment. A crown restores tooth strength and natural appearance. Restoring a tooth with a crown is less costly than having to replace the tooth if it is lost. Crowns may be composed of tooth-colored ceramic (metal free), tooth-colored ceramic over precious metal, or all gold. The option selected will depend on the location of the specific teeth. Gold or precious metal over ceramic are preferred on back teeth where strength is important, and all ceramic crowns are preferred on teeth where esthetics are a priority.

  • Gum Disease Treatment

Without regular dental checkups, you won't know that you have gum disease until your condition is in its advanced stages. The warning signs that you may experience with this disease include gums that bleed when eating, brushing, and flossing because they are swollen and tender. You may also notice that your gums are receding. When this happens, your teeth look longer. If you notice sores in your mouth or pus in between your gums and teeth, then chances are you may have gum disease.

  • Emergancy Exams

If you are experiencing tooth pain or have had an accident that is affecting your mouth contact us today to schedule an emergency appointment.

  • 3D Digital Impressions

SmileMidtown now offers cutting edge digital impressions. At your initial visit we can take an intraoral scan of your smile. This creates a virtual copy of your mouth which Dr. Smith or Dr. Shuster can send digitally to the lab.
